Lat.Bus Transpublico 2024 was a great success last week with the trade show confirming its status as the premiere bus and transport exhibition in South America. Held at Expo Imigrantes in Sao Paulo, it is the largest urban mobility event in Latin America, which brings together all segments of public urban transport and road transport, in Brazil and surrounding countries.
Our partner VMG Aires displayed their latest SKU models for city and micro buses, and the new double-decker range. On display was the complete range from Unicla which included the new CRA675, UX330 and UX380 compressors.
The newly developed Unicla VMG CRA675 compressor, which is now the largest capacity and most compact swashplate compressor in the world, was a popular attraction during the show.
International Presence for Unicla
From Unicla, Jon Mitchell, General Manager Global Service and Technical Support, and Mark Mitchell, Director Global Marketing and Technical Support attended the show to assist the VMG team with the rollout of the new Unicla compressor range. Customers came from Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador asking sales and service support questions.
The availability of spare parts and service support was a compelling feature about Unicla that most attendees were glad to hear, especially those interested in end-of-life component re-building in high-mileage vehicles.

Plenty of Potential in South America
The industry in Brazil is still guided by its own National Urban Mobility Policy in which buses play a significant role. However, people are expecting better quality services and more efficient operation from their public transport systems.
In some societies, zero fares are increasingly on the agenda, and lowering of carbon emissions is paramount.
Overall it’s an exciting and evolutionary time for the bus and coach industry in South America, and Unicla is pleased to be involved with VMG Aires.
